BAE Systems expansion plans at Willamtown take flight

Off the back of the NSW Government $250 million Jobs Plus Program announcement, BAE Systems Australia is set to boost its employment at Williamtown by 55 new skilled engineering jobs.

Strengthening their position as a leading defence prime contractor based at Newcastle Airport’s Defence Estate, BAE Systems Australia are focused on growing its highly skilled workforce in the Hunter. These new STEM-focused roles will support newly established regionally focused maintenance bays, which will enhance the number of international aircraft being maintained at Williamtown.

This most recent announcement is in addition to the extension of the Australian Hawk upgrade contract, which is set to sustain 350 direct jobs from their base at Newcastle Airport.
